Aged quince rakia Miko Cista is a product of the Miko distillery, which is produced with extremely modern equipment and strictly adhering to the highest possible environmental standards. Maximum efforts have been made to preserve and revive the best varieties of fruit for the production of rakia and the distillation is performed using entirely solar energy.

Aged quince rakia Cista is produced mainly from the best variety for the production of quince rakia “Leskovačka” and is aged for about 1 year in French oak barrels. It is characterized by an exceptional  depth in aroma, dominated by rapidly developing geranium enveloped by intense notes of fresh citrus mainly of freshly squeezed lime juice and fresh lemon peel. It demonstrates a pleasant spiciness expressed through fresh green chili pepper and additional complexity is given by the delicate and slightly hinted floral notes in combination with tomato leaves complemented by the aroma of vanilla and white chocolate coming from the short aging in an oak barrel.

On the palate, a taste of well-ripened quince peel is recreated with brightly emphasized notes of geranium in combination with ginger and freshly cut grass. A long and memorable spicy and citrus aftertaste expressed through green chili pepper, lime juice and lemon peel. Over time the nutty notes develop on the palate, expressed mostly through almond, and the oak extraction is felt much more than in the aroma and is expressed in vanilla, marzipan, white chocolate and caramel.

As all quince rakia this is also suitable in combination with a wide variety of food, from heavier salads to main dishes and even light chocolate desserts.
